Not Yet Trained

In walking.

It may be the last step,

the bud of you forgetting

to open.

Will you

suggest it by your

form, enduring

this our dark.

Creature

what are you bringing?

as much bird as light

but show me kneeling

how it weeps

the bell of you

over us.

Author: Stacey C. Johnson

I keep watch and listen, mostly in dark places.
