cantera verde

grammar of away

i wait, walk
where she moves
with me inside her
& listen
to her music, this city
built of stone thrown
from fire, then greened
in the life of what waits
airborne and land-bound
before and after burn & fall
to carry

Author: Stacey C. Johnson

I keep watch and listen, mostly in dark places.
